SMOKING room [吸烟室]

Both Ai and Ran call their parlour/living room as smoking room, it’s the only place guests could come in to as the other rooms are restricted unless shown to.

The reason was funny, both chose the name as an attempt to be humorous, because both of them couldn’t smoke, even if they try they ended up looking pathetic and miserable with the coughing and search for sweets and drinks.

They even put a beautiful China in the middle of the coffee table and put roses and hydrangeas in, mixed with chocolates or candies and pretend to “smoke”, since it would be embarrassing to accept guests of high ranks but coughing a lot in the end, Ai is a lot more worse than Ran, at least Ran could finish one tobacco, she can’t even manage to puff one. They’d do anything to not lose face or blow their cover.

Though the China is actually the key to everything, it makes the guests see what Ai and Ran wanted to see.

Maybe they’re smoking roses, maybe they’re just eating frozen crystal candy, or maybe just straight out eating chocolate that is so cold they could blow smoke.
